This is a fun question. After consulting my icheckmovies account, I discovered that I'd seen 49 of the Best Picture winners. My misses are mostly older, though I haven't seen A King's Speech and Chicago from the 2000s. I've seen all of the '90s winners and a lot from the decades before that, but it gets pretty spotty in the '30s and '40s.
Very nice. I know I've seen at least the last 20 years, but before that, it'll be sprinkled around the decades. I better figure it out before we record our episode tonight!
I've seen 58. It'll be 59 by the end of the week as I have WINGS from Netfix right now, the earliest best picture winner I haven't seen yet.
Most impressive. I know I'm no where near that figure. If I'm lucky I've seen a quarter of the winners at this point, but it is a goal to eventually see them all plus as many of the nominees as possible.
I looked at the list and have seen in the 31-40 range. Of course, the majority of the ones I'm lacking are early ones.
I'm thinking that might be where I am too. Haven't tallied them up just yet.
You expect me to do RESEARCH for your poll?! I have NO idea.
But Pat, I've edited the post with a link to the list of winners, making it easier for you ;)
72 for me. Years I've missed: 1949, 1955, 1956, 1966, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1989, 2001. I went on an Oscar-winner watching spree a while back (going oldest to newest), but then it kind of petered out.
That's quite a number. Most impressive. For a film fan, my pitiful 36 is a bit embarrassing, but someday I might catch up.
